New Years Eve- The Last 80's Night with DJG

New Years Eve will be the last 80's Dance Night with DJG. It's been a great 5 years, but unfortunately my upcoming teaching schedule will not allow me to be out in Denton till 3am. I don't know if Hailey's will be continuing 80's Night with another DJ or if they will be reformatting the night. In the meantime, come out and dance...keep bringing in your requests...and I'll see you tonight. Thank you for all your support.

Thursday, October 29th will be a special Halloween edition of 80's Dance Night with DJG. I'll be playing the usual (retro hits, oldschool jams, and cult classics) plus I'll be throwing in a heavy mix of Halloween and Halloween inspired (think dark synth, goth, industrial, etc) songs.

Tonight's Left of the Dial

Left of the Dial is tonight at Rubber Gloves in Denton.  I will have special guest DJ Wanz Dover up there with me tonight.  We will be playing the usual post-punk, goth, industrial, shoegaze, and 70s/80s alt., and some of the unusual.  I'm not too sure about the status of this weekly, I thought tonight was going to be my last one; however, it appears I am scheduled through June.  What dates in June, I don't know.  So, come out if you can. I've really enjoyed playing this music and have had a great response.

For Your Pleasure: Sunday May 10th

This Sunday's For Your Pleasure, I will be welcoming special guest Johnny Tightpants (from the Dallas Smoke).  The Smoke has been holding it down for over five years now as Dallas' premier Mod dance night, covering Northern Soul, Ska, Freakbeat, R&B, and Reggae.  

As the Smoke's resident "stax and ska man",  Johnny will compliment the Jazz, Soul, Reggae, Kraut, and Glam that For Your Pleasure is known for.  

As always, there will be no cover, great drink specials, and free ping pong and pool going on all night.  10 pm -2 am.  Sunday May 10th.

For Your Pleasure @ Hailey's

For Your Pleasure is a Sunday night weekly event at Hailey's Club in Denton, TX.

The night was taken over from Wild-in-the-Streets' previous residency. Now you can find me providing music among the ambiance of ping pong & pool playing afficianados. It makes for an interesting night.

You can hear my take on soul/r&b from 60s/70s, glamrock & its protopunk progeny, 60s garage rock, the motorik psych of german krautrock, jazz styles from 50s-70s, jamaican ska, rocksteady, roots reggae, dub & touches of afro-latin-brazilian flavas...
